On November 18th , 2017 took place the third annual Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame Awards Gala. Coming from all over Canada, the fans gathered at the invitation of the organization and its founder, John Scotti, to exchange views, ideas, experiences and also for the induction of several members during an evening party. 22 new members inducted During that evening, 22 Canadians were rewarded for their commitment to the acceleration races. They received a ring and jacket in the colours of the CDRHF, a recognition of their investment in this discipline. To be inducted, they must have been actively involved in the sport at the highest level of their category for more than 25 years and have made a significant contribution to promote this sport. This may be by achieving a national record as a driver or team member, as a photographer or as a race tracks promoter/owner. After this 3rd ceremony, the total number of inductees into the Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame is increased to 61. According to the founder, John Scotti, "Each person inducted into the Hall of Fame brings his or her contribution to the building and ensures the legacy of the sport of acceleration racing. It is an honour to welcome these legends and celebrate their feats together." Two legends of this sport have been posthumously inducted. The origins of the CDRHF In 2014, John Scotti decided to create this organization. President of the John Scotti Automotive group, it was following the death of his mentor, John Digman, that he wanted to found the CDRHF. The goal is to honor the contribution of people like John Digman and his peers in the Canadian Acceleration Race. In addition to classic cars, it's a sport particularly by John Scotti since he has participated in races for several years.
